ABSTRACT
Psychology, as a science, studies human behavior and makes a significant contribution in
different sectors. In this analysis, we will explore the relationship it has with the tourism and
business area, since economic efficiency is inevitably related to human efficiency at work, which
contributes significantly to production, services, management and administration. Tourist
behavior is explained based on the psychological, psychosocial and situational processes that
intervene in the tourist experience before, during and after the trip. The objective of the research
is to analyze the relationship between psychology and the tourism and business sectors,
considering that, by understanding the attitudes and behaviors of travelers, tourism service
providers will be able to establish better communication and interaction with each of them, thus
satisfying their expectations and requirements. Tourism, within the economy of Manabí,
constitutes a key sector for the development of the productive matrix of the province, and is
considered a fundamental source of income for the productive sectors, especially in the area of
entrepreneurship, since it constitutes the economic base for many households that depend on
the income generated by tourism in its different areas. This research work was a non-experimental
bibliographic review. The psychosocial analysis of the tourism phenomenon will provide benefits
through the efficient use of information, which will allow the implementation of actions to improve
and offer an efficient service in tourism, thus contributing to the continued growth of this business
sector.
