Resumen

Para los profesionales del marketing es fundamental entender cómo se comportan los consumidores, y eso incluye sus tendencias, sus motivaciones y en qué basan sus decisiones. En el modelo tradicional, la importancia del proceso de compra radica en que es un acto racional cuyo fin es satisfacer necesidades y deseos conscientes. Sin embargo, de acuerdo con los enfoques actuales, hemos virado hacia el análisis y el entendimiento de la relevancia que tienen las decisiones que se toman de forma inconsciente. Estos procesos, que incluyen los estereotipos, la consecución de objetivos inconscientes, la imitación y la predisposición tienen un peso muy importante en las preferencias de los consumidores y, en última instancia, en la toma de decisiones.

El objetivo de este artículo es, en primer lugar, presentar la evolución del marketing, dar a conocer el vínculo que existe entre el campo del comportamiento del consumidor y el marketing. En segundo lugar, exponer el vínculo entre las nuevas tecnologías y esas conductas en el mundo digital, así como presentar los conceptos emergentes del marketing social. Por último, poner de relieve el enfoque interdisciplinar del comportamiento del consumidor y el vínculo entre esta noción y otros campos de estudio.
