The processes of initiation of reading and writing are essential for children's learning and with an adequate stimulus and adequate teaching strategies, comprehensive training in schoolchildren will be achieved. In the 9 de Octubre Educational Unit, in the canton of Santa Ana, children are beginning to develop their literacy skills with a series of failures and without proper didactic stimulation, this argument motivated the realization of this article whose objective is to describe the state of Current development of literacy in high school students of the Educational Unit 9 de Octubre. In the same way, the research originated a proposal on a guide of integrating activities that will contribute to the development of literacy.
