Abstract

The present work is focused on trying to propose an improvement plan for the operational processes of unloading a bulk ship in the Andipuerto Guayaquil S.A. port terminal, since it is an entity that, due to its large commercialization of solid bulk, has managed to impose great importance within Ecuadorian territory considering the country’s level of consumption of these products. It is one of the few port terminals recognized for its high efficiency in bulk carriers, thus giving a step towards emphasizing the supply chain, thus increasing competitiveness at a national and international level, specializing more and more in this operation, becoming capable of taking of decisions complied with the condition established to carry out a control of existing variations. This study uses a qualitative approach which allows distinguishing improvements that may occur in the port terminal, using methods and instruments that lead to a non-participant observation, thus seeking to obtain the maximum objectivity and veracity possible in unloading operational processes, in bulk. The good decision of instruments will be determined in the cognitive state of the people in the operational area, generating ideas and concepts that strengthen the production of good results without neglecting the good performance of the terminal’s productivity, which is of the utmost importance since it takes advantage of internationally managed resources.
