Research culture in students of the education career

The culture of research among Education students is a crucial aspect for the development of competent future teachers and the improvement of educational quality. The purpose of this investigation was to analyze the factors that influence the formation of a research culture and evaluate its impact on students' professional competencies. A mixed methodology was employed, combining surveys of students from different years of the program, semi-structured interviews with teachers, and documentary analysis of study plans. The results reveal a positive correlation between early exposure to research methodologies and the development of scientific and innovative skills. Participation in research projects and faculty mentorship were identified as key factors in fostering a research culture among pre-service professionals. However, significant barriers were observed, such as the limited availability of resources and the perception of research as an activity disconnected from teaching practice. The study concludes that it is necessary to more effectively integrate research into the curriculum and provide greater opportunities for participation in real projects to strengthen the culture of scientific inquiry in teacher training.
